Leona Margaret Battles
Leona Margaret Battles died October 6, 2009 (age 101), at Auburn Medical Center. Leona was born August 17, 1908 in Star, Idaho, to Catherine and Jacob Hergert. Mother to Shirley, Ronald (deceased), and Bobbie (deceased), Leona was an avid gardener, expert cook, devout Christian, and loved by friends and family. She is survived by daughter Shirley,step-children Charles Battles, Grace Chapin, and Betty Gibbs, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Deceased step-children are Bob and Bill Battles and Belle Younger. Greg Chapin conducted graveside services at Mountain View Cemetery on October 12, 2009.
