Leon Beasley's Obituary
Leon Beasley, 43, with his boisterous personality, with God's choosing, decided to leave us unexpectedly on January 16, 2019 with family by his side at St. Joseph medical center.
The cutest little mixed kid, Leon Beasley Sr
was born on January 2, 1976 to Korean mother Yon O Mcloud and African American father Roscoe "Bruce" Beasley in Seoul, South Korea. He was a favorite among family.
Having arrived in the United States a year later, Leon received his public education and after getting his stuff together graduated from Clover Park High School in 1995.
After the birth of his only child and son Leon Beasley Jr in 2000, Leon got really serious about schooling and went on to earn his Masters degree from City University. He was a doting father whose accomplishments he largely attributed to the birth of his son.
As far as career goes, Leon decided that teaching was best suited for him due to "having three months off" every year. So while obtaining his degrees, Leon worked for the public school system as a tutor, substitute teacher and college prep mentor. Touching lives with his humorous, charismatic and bubbly personality.
With a personality like Leon's it's no wonder his hobbies included socializing with friends (boy did he do a lot of that), family and caring for his beloved tuxedo cat Chisox. It's safe to assume the name is derived from the Chicago White Sox = Chisox. He created nicknames for humans in this manner as well.
As Leon got older as we all do, he would later develop new interests to include landscaping, working on cars and building his garden/ utility tools collection. Who would have thought?! He cut and edged up people's lawns, fixed his son's breaks on the car (which later broke again) and loved letting family borrow his endless supply of power tools.
Leon was a splash of color in everyone's lives. He loved his 4-letter words and used them to describe just about everything. You heard him from a mile away before you saw him. Leon's larger than life, vibrant and colorful soul was loved by all who knew or came into contact with him. Often times challenging people's knowledge of history and debate. You either loved him or you loved him.
In the interim, Leon leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Leon Beasley Jr. and granddaughter Liliana Rosalyn Beasley. Leon is survived by his mother, Yon O Mcloud; brothers, Charles Mcloud and Michael Beasley.
Leon was preceded in death by his father, Roscoe Beasley.
