Leo S. Rytkonen
Born in Marquette, Michigan on July 12, 1915; passed away on July 29, 2008 at Heartwood Extended Care with his family at his side. After graduating from Northern State Teachers College in 1940, Leo taught at Northport, Michigan before being drafted in January, 1942. While stationed at McChord AFB with the 380th Anti-Aircraft-Artillery Battalion, he met Agnes (Bonnie) Blandin, and they married on September 5, 1943. Leo was co-owner of Parkland Fuel Oil from 1946-1950, and, after 29 years, he retired from Puget Sound Plywood in 1981. He was a lifetime member of the Puyallup Valley Gem and Mineral Club. Leo was predeceased by his parents Swante and Sigurd (Hoijer), a brother, Walter, and a sister, Elsie. He is survived by his wife Agnes, daughter Pat and her husband Bill Karn, son Bruce and his wife Sheryl J. (Jones), and his granddaughters BonnieJean and Karlene. The family gratefully acknowledges the compassionate care Leo received at Heartwood. In keeping with Leo's request, a private family gathering will be held with cremation and interment at Mountain View Cemetery.
