Lenore Faulk's Obituary
Lenore Faulk
June 13, 1939 – May 25, 2025
Lenore Faulk, a beloved wife, step- mother, aunt, grandmother, teacher, and friend,
passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 25, 2025, at the age of 85, at Puyallup’s
Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Puyallup, Washington. Born Gladys Lenore McFarland on June 13, 1939, at the Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA, she was the daughter of Estelle Gladys and Henry D. McFarland Sr. Lenore earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and was a proud
Huskies fan through and through—even while sharing a home with her beloved husband, Bill Faulk, a diehard Washington State Cougars fan. Their friendly rivalry was lovingly displayed with a sign on their front door reading “Divided House: Huskies / Cougars. Lenore dedicated her professional life to teaching in the Auburn School District, where she spent her entire career shaping young minds in 4th through 6th grade. Her students were like her children, and she poured her heart into their success and growth. She spent many summers as Director at Camp Auburn, teaching survival skills. After retirement Lenore volunteered at the Auburn School District’s Garden Club, where she continued to teach and nurture children.
Lenore purchased her first and only home in Bonney Lake, WA—where she and Bill would live for over 50 years. That home became the heart of many cherished memories, and she took great pride in it. She was a loyal neighbor and friend to Jeff and Gloria Brain for over five decades and served for many years on the Lake Debra Jane HOA board, always working to build and support her community. She was a member of the local Stream Team and taught many young people how to test and manage the lake water quality on Lake Jane.
Lenore was passionate about animals and was often seen walking her dogs around the
lake. She loved gardening, spending time outdoors, and taking her nieces and
grandchildren on outings to the pool, zoo, or skating rink. She and Bill were members of a Jeep club and participated in multiple bowling leagues together over the years. Lenore lived her life with quiet strength, deep compassion, and unwavering Christian values. She gave of her time and resources generously and selflessly. A lifelong learner, she made it a tradition to give each child in the family a book every holiday, instilling a love of reading in the next generation. She was, in every sense, a beautiful soul—humble, kind, and deeply loved. Lenore is survived locally by her husband Bill Faulk; her stepdaughter Shannon (husband Dean) Brucie, granddaughters Danelle & Erin Brucie, great grandchildren Wyatt & Leo and niece Shannon McFarland. She is also survived by her brother Al (wife Renee) McFarland of Oregon, and nieces Susan Frye, Sheryl Grimm, Heather Avise, Charlene Conrad, Pamela Yachdav and Michele Downs. She was preceded in death by her parents, her younger brother, Henry D. McFarland Jr., and nephew, Al McFarland Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 7th, from 4pm-6pm at the Upper Park
Pavilion of Lake Debra Jane, Bonney Lake, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a children’s literacy program or a local animal shelter- causes close to her heart.
