Leland Duane Bahr, Sr.Dec. 20, 1910 Â- May 29, 2004 Leland D. Bahr, 93, of Lakewood died at his home. He was born in Wilcox, Nebraska, to George Henry and Anna (Boldt) Bahr. He graduated from high school in Wilcox, Nebraska in 1929 and from the Lincoln School of Commerce business college in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1931. On Aug. 9, 1942 he married Emma Lee Spreier at the Hitching Post Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Bahr served in the Army from 1941 Â- 1962 and retired as Chief Warrant Officer, W4. He was awarded the Bronze Star and WWII Victory Medals. He then went to work at the U. S. Postal Service in Tacoma, retiring in 1975. LelandÂ's favorite pastimes were spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and feeding squirrels at his home. He was preceded in death by his son Leland Jr., in 1985 and his wife in 1989. Survivors include a son George Bahr and his wife Jan of Poulsbo, a daughter Harriett Dunlap and her husband Dennis of Tacoma; 2 grandsons David Bahr and his wife Jennifer and their children Daniel and Jessica of Orting; and Jeremy Bahr and his wife Stefanie and their son Zane of Bremerton. A viewing will be held from Sunday, June 6, 11:00AM-9:00PM to Mon. June 7, 2004 at 1:30 PM. Graveside services with Military Honors will be Monday, June 7, 2004 at 1:30PM at Mt. View Memorial Park.
