Leland Bretz Blair's Obituary
Born July 1, 1916 in Bridgeport, IL, passed away on the 15th of April, 2005. A longtime resident of Lakewood, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jim. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Jo, sons: Bill (Judi), Ladd (Linda), Lee (Terri), and daughters: Cyndie (Ed) Harris and Corky (Fred) Ebi. Leland is also survived by his sister, Louise (Lester) Gallon, 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and an extended family and lifelong friends that span the continent. Leland served from 1940 to 1964 as a sailor, pilot, reserve officer, and civil engineer. A combat veteran of WWII and Korea, a pilot, warrior and citizen soldier with a deep love for his country and its people. After Leland retired he worked as an engineer at Boeing, later he went into real estate, land development and construction. Leland had a never ending supply of stories and experiences that touched the lives of all those around him. 5 generations have been blessed with LelandÂ's rich life.
