Lee Sublett's Obituary
Lee Sublett passed away on December 2021 in Tacoma, WA at the age of 80 after a long battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Her Korean name was Lee Jong Su and her baptismal name was Leonia.
She was born in July 1941 in South Korea and was the oldest of 6 siblings. While in Korea, she worked at a Catholic hospital and also met her late husband, Sidney Rex Sublett. They married and moved to the United States where they shared a life together traveling to various places that included Oklahoma and Washington State. They once spent 7 days driving down to Texas to visit family. She attended college and worked various occupations, including as a translator for hospital patients. She mostly enjoyed a retired life together with her late husband and their beloved chickens. Her favorite chicken was named Sarah.
She enjoyed swimming and taking walks. She also enjoyed reading books and talking on the phone with friends and family. She liked spending her time making rosaries and giving them to loved ones.
She is survived by her step daughter Gina Lethco and her family. Her siblings Monica Kang, Lee Jong Pyo, Lee Jong Bum, and Lee Jong Hyuk and their families. Her cousins Shin Wan and Shin Gu and their families, and her mother Lim Myeong Sook.
She was preceded in death by her younger sister Lee Jong Nae and father Lee Man Gi.
Though she was widowed nearly 14 years ago, she refused to move elsewhere closer to family, as she wanted to stay close by Rex's side. She loved residing in Tacoma and can now be laid peacefully next to her husband.
Lee's service will be held on Thursday 12/23 at 11AM at Mountain View Funeral Park. 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Tacoma, WA 98499 at the Garden Chapel.
