Lee Bertha Robinson's Obituary
Lee Bertha Mims Robinson, known to family and friends as Lee, peacefully departed this earthly life on August 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 16, 1937, in Mountain Creek, Alabama, to the late Bebley Mims and Josie Brown Mims. She was one of twelve children, and all of her siblings preceded her in death. At an early age, Lee confessed Christ as her personal Savior and united with Old Kingston Baptist Church in Autauga County, Alabama, beginning a lifelong walk of faith. In Jemison, Alabama, she attended Holy Grove Baptist Church, and St. James A.M.E. Church. She later attended Capital Christian Center Church in Olympia, Wa.
Lee was united in holy matrimony during her life and was preceded in death by her husbands, Elmer Gill, Sr. and Frederick Robinson, as well as her beloved son, Major Gill, who departed this life at eight months of age. Lee was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family deeply. She is survived by her children: Rosie Powe of Tacoma, Washington; Elmer Gill, Jr. (Alma) of Columbia, Maryland; Belinda Gill of Lancaster, California; Juanita Gill Taylor of Westland, Michigan; Alfred Robinson of Calera, Alabama; Charlene Robinson of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and Darlene Harden (Nathaniel Harden-deceased) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Bernard, Aster, Litonya, Sheika, Angela, Edward, Josh, Johnathan, and Jeffery; and seven great-grandchildren: Marnecia, Adonnis, Ava, Tobias, Marcianna, Ethan, and Titan. In addition, she leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Lee found joy in life’s simple blessings. She loved gardening, cooking, and sewing, and she shared these gifts freely as expressions of love and care for her family. Her warm smile, gentle spirit, and joyful laughter brought comfort and light to all who knew her.
She will truly be missed. Her smile and laughter will live in our hearts and minds forever.
“Well done, thy good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:21
