It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Leata Tagaloa, who departed this life peacefully on June 4, 2025, in Lakewood, Washington, at the age of 81.
Born on February 21, 1944, in American Samoa, Leata lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service. She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend whose warmth and wisdom touched all who knew her.
Leata was a cherished member of the Fort Lewis Congregation Samoan Church, where she faithfully served alongside her beloved husband, who was the congregation’s pastor. Her unwavering commitment to her church community and her deep spiritual strength were a guiding light to many. Whether through her gentle counsel, her generous hospitality, or her steadfast prayers, Leata embodied the love and grace of her faith.
She will be remembered for her kind heart, her quiet strength, and her enduring devotion to her family and community. Her legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
Leata is survived by her son, Peniata and a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly but rejoice in the knowledge that she is now at peace.
