Lawrence H. Wimberley
Lawrence H. Wimberley was born in Rowena, Texas on August 9, 1922 to Filous and Annie (Grosshans) Wimberley. He died on Tuesday November 5th, 2013 in his own home. A WWII veteran, Larry joined the Army in 1940 and was discharged at Ft. Lewis in 1945. Larry worked for Boeing for many years before retiring in 1986. He spent countless volunteer hours during his retirement including running the breakfast feeding program at Luther Memorial Church and working as a docent at the Washington State Historical Museum. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara (Moldenhauer) Wimberley who passed away in 1997. He is survived by three children: Richard (Karen), Laura and Linda and three grandchildren: Nicholas, Kelsey and Joanne. Services will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church (6730 N 17th St in Tacoma) on Sunday November 10th at 4pm. Memorials can be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
