Lawrence Webber Sr.'s Obituary
On Monday, August 26, 2019, Lawrence (Larry) A. Webber Sr., peacefully passed away at the age of 77.
Larry was born June 6, 1942 in Seattle, WA to Doris Mae Webber and Albert Leonard Webber. Larry graduated from Ballard High School in 1960, where he then joined the United States Air Force. He married (and later divorced) Jene Marie and went on to have 4 children. Kimberly, Larry Jr., Michael, and John. Larry retired after 20 years in the military and then went on to work for the United States Postal Service for 29 years. He was known as everyone’s favorite mail carrier as, “Mailman Larry”.
Larry had a passion for Major League Baseball, College Basketball and College Football. He was a die-hard fan of the Mariners. Yes, those people do exist. He was a season ticket holder for many years and his kids were Pepsi Jr Mariner ticket holders. Larry knew EVERYTHING about baseball. He was like the Rain Man with stats from any year. He could settle bets within the family with things he just knew off the top of his head, including batting averages from 20 years ago. Larry also loved Gonzaga Basketball and Boise State Football. He learned how to text message and his family would get random texts with score updates, just because he could.
Larry also loved Jesus. He was an avid follower of the Bible and loved learning about it. He has many versions of the Bible and study guides. He has thousands of notes he took from various Bible Studies he attended at Champion Center, where he attended church and was a greeter. Larry also performed in the Jesus of Nazareth plays that were held at the Amphitheater in Puyallup.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Doris (1993) and Albert (1946), Brother Paul Henrickson (2018), Son John (2016), and his former wife, Helen (2002). He is survived by his wife Georgene, his sister Elaine Hartsock, children Kimberly (Dan), Larry Jr. (Ann), and Michael (Mic), his grandchildren, Daniel, Derek, Paige, Debbie, Ashley, Casey & Hannah, and great grandchildren, Nora & Brynn.
