Lawrence Leo Larsen's Obituary
Bud Larsen passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones, at the age of 86. Born to Louie and Mabel Larsen in Tacoma, Washington, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Doris (Toburen), and his sister Nonnie Norton.
Bud graduated from Lincoln High School, Tacoma, in 1942. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, but was discharged for medical reasons. Unwilling to sit out World War II, he joined the Merchant Marine and served as an anti-aircraft gunner on munitions ships in the Aleutian Islands, the South Pacific, and Asia. After the war, Bud was hired by Hooker Chemical, in Tacoma, where he worked for 34 years, retiring as a Shift Supervisor in 1984. He was a gentle and caring man, a loyal friend, and a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. We will miss his kind and loving ways and his welcoming smile.
Bud leaves behind his son Gary (Margo) and daughter Linda (Doug) Clough, grandsons Christopher and Nicholas, granddaughters Kirsti and Kenna, great grandsons Cody, Colten, and Conner, and great granddaughter Gracie, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, an aunt, and a number of dear friends.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Mountain View Funeral Home, in Lakewood. Visitation will on Friday, July 9, from 2pm to 8pm. Memorial service to be held at 11am on Saturday, July 10, in the Aspen Chapel at Mountain View's Celebration of Life Center, with reception to follow.
