Lawrence Castleman's Obituary
TOGETHER AGAIN Lawrence S. Castleman, SFC ARMY RETIRED
Born on November 17, 1921 in Shelbyville, Bedford County, Tennessee; passed away september 15, 2009 in Tacoma, WA. SFC Castleman served his country during World War II and saw tours in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany. He met and married his wife Erika while in Germany. They moved to Tacoma, where they resided for 49 years. Retiring from the service, SFC Castleman began a career with the State Correctional System in various supervisory positions, retiring after 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Erika, parents Martha J. and Charlie M. Castleman, sisters and brothers and lifelong friend Loretta Armstrong. He is survived by his niece Birtie Mai Owens, great niece Betty Chunn, other relatives, lifelong friend MiltonJ. Armstrong, godchildren Monica L. Stevens, Richard L. Armstrong, Diana M. Affeldt, and Carol Lewis.
Service with Military Honors will be held on September 24, 2009 at 1:00pm in the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center, Lakewood, WA. Memorial donations can be made to the Franciscan Hospice House, 2901 Bridgeport Way West, University Place, Wa 98466.
