Lawrence A. Black's Obituary
Larry A. Black, 65, of Tacoma, WA, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2011. He was born on October 1, 1945 in San Mateo, CA.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Louise Black. Larry graduated from Skyline High School in Oakland, CA and attended some college through the Army. He married Lillian R. Klecknerin 1966 and they lived together in Tacoma, WA.
Larry worked for Beneficial Financial for awhile then went out on his own into the retail industry. He later became an investigator/collector for attorneys. He enjoyed his water aerobics and walks with the dogs in the dog park. He loved to do road trips to the wineries in the Greater Northwest. He loved to drive the coast line of Oregon for its serenity, calmness and just downright beautiful coast line. One of his favorite's spots was Canon Beach, Brookings and you can't pass up the Tillamook Cheese Factory.
Larry is survived by his brother Larry McCarthy of Chicago, IL and two children: Mark Black (Tina) of Sacramento, CA and Anna Smead of Tacoma, WA. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Christopher Smead (Ashley), Eric Smead, Theresa Smead and Evan Black.
Larry is survived by brother in laws Jerry Kleckner, Patrick Kleckner (Victoria) and sister in laws Diane Anderson (Kent) and Mary Cargill (Dennis). Many nephews and nieces are Melissa Hood (Aaron, Nicholas, Jordan, Alyssa) Benjamin Suarez (Diane, Sahalee) Michael Kleckner, Chelsea Kleckner, Max Cargill and Natalie Cargill.

Thank you to the Friends of the Library and Friends of Dewey Book Club. Larry sends special love to Scooter and Ziggy and all the family animal friends.
The funeral service is at 1pm on January 10, 2011 at Mountain View Funeral Home on 4100 Steilacoom Blvd., Lakewood, WA 98499. Service will be held in the Valley Chapel, just follow the yellow painted line on the road inside the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
