Laurie was just the glue who kept us going while working together at Mirror lake elementary. She would patiently teach me many things during the 8 years that I worked there full time. My children attended the school years before I started working there and she was kind enough to me as I spent many days there volunteering as well as picking up my son who got in trouble often. She was always nice to embrace parents and staff alike and I know that I will see her again in Heaven where we will dance 💃🏻 together 🤗

You were the glue - I’ll never forget how motherly you were to me as M’Lynn aka Mama in Steel Magnolias (my favorite cast of all time). And you finding me in the car crying on opening night bc I missed my real mom and sister. You lured me inside for a surprise 30th birthday party, complete with pink balloons and hand wrapped gifts from the whole cast. The reunions that followed were filled with love and joy and they even continued after I moved away and couldn’t be there, yet you all kept me included by sending me relics and special notes that now reside in my childhood Hope chest. I remember Jody (Ouiser) telling me how it felt like Shelby (me) really passed away at those reunions. And when we reconnected on FB, I couldn’t wait to connect again in person! But as timing would have it, things didn’t line up and our worlds went on. Now you live on in all of the beautiful memories we shared. Thank you for your kindness and pure love. You were and always will be a true treasure and blessing to me. May you rest in peace - I’m planting a tree in the forest in your memory! Love you always, Kristin (aka Shelby) Be magical! 🕯️️✨🤍

Laurie was a very dear friend. We shared our 21st birthdays together in Lake Tahoe and were roommates in New York for a while.
She was a talented actress, always a standout in every production. I shall miss her very, very much!

My sincerest condolences to the Sifford family. Laurie was an amazing human being! I first met her at Mirror Lake where my son attended school and now my grandchildren go there. She always greeted you with kindness. She reminded me so much of the women in my own family...sweet, nurturing, protective, strong, and hard-working. She will truly be missed.

Not a lot of people can say they had a great relationship with their great aunts but I’m a lucky one. Aunt Laurie was always so happy for my life adventures and I loved that she got to experience those memories with me. I will miss your sass and the excitement you brought to our family functions. Laurie was just not my wonderful sister in-law she was my good friend! She shared with me some of her growing up years when she was a struggling young actress working on off Broadway in New York with some some oldies like Bob Comings. I thought she was a great actress, I got to see her in a few plays myself. My best memories and the ones I’ll miss the most are the trips we took to Las Vegas each year to celebrate our birthdays. My Aunt Laurie was so much fun to be around. When I was 5 years old, she taught me the lyrics to "Rain Drops Keep Falling on My Head". Aunt Laurie would play the piano and I would sing. The song was from "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" movie. I think she had a bit of a crush on Robert Redford.
The last time I saw Laurie was at Christmas before Covid and she told me a little story. As she told me, years ago, back in the 70's, she had learned which hotel Robert Redford stayed at while in Utah. So, she decided she was going to call and ask for him. Much to her shock and surprise, the hotel actually connected her to him and he answered. She told me she didn't expect that and got scared and hung up. I would have too. Neat story.
I send my condolences to her husband, children and grandchildren. Heaven has gained an angel.
