Laurie and I have known each other for many years. We worked together at Social Security and we recently were in the same unit. Laurie always gave us encouragement to do our best and she always wanted to know how we were doing with a big smile. I will miss her so much. I want to express my sympathy to her family. Laurie and I worked side-by-side in the ICTU, and before that she as my TA and I as a TSR at the Auburn Teleservice Center of Social Security. She so enjoyed her family and had their pictures proudly displayed on her desk. She was never too busy for them, even though she put much into her work at SSA. She also was active in her church as an usher, her alumni work and she did many special things for many people. And as mentioned, she was a classy lady who always wanted the best in life for herself and all the many people she cared for and shared her life with. I was sadden and shocked by the passing of Laurie Queen. I worked with Laurie in the ICTU from 2000-2003 when I left to work in Seattle. Laurie was such a nice and wonderful person to work with. I remember how she use to always collect foreign stamps as one of her hobbies. My hearfelt condolences go out to you and the family. Monika and family. Monika, I never got to meet you, but your mom always talked about you. Laurie and I worked together for 20 years and also we took a couple of cruises together. She enjoyed traveling. My girl was such an inspiration to me and so many others. Laurie was a "classy lady". I will truly miss my best friend Laurie. My heart has been heavy since the day I found out, but I know Laurie would not want me to continuously grieve. I love her so much and she will never leave my spirit.
