Laurel L. Townsend, 72, passed away December 24, 2011 in Tacoma, WA. She was born on December 17, 1939 to Clifford C. and Grace L. (Ness) Tullar. Laurel worked for many years as a cook at Arches Restaurant and Lounge in Tacoma. She is survived by her husband Emmett Townsend, children Leland Harvey, Michael Landers, Deborah Townsend, Jimmy Townsend, and Rick Townsend, two brothers, and one sister. Laurel was preceded in death by her parents, son Duane Hicks, and daughter Lynette Hicks. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 30, 2011 in the Mountain View Valley Chapel.
