Dear Beth and all of the Ristines:

I left a message with the Funeral Home in Port Angeles but will send another message here in case you don't receive it. I heard about Laurie's departing us from an office mate of mine here in West Linn, OR, and a sorority sister of Beth's: Phyllis Carlton. I was deeply saddened to hear the news. I thought about Laurie a good deal over the years since our days at UW. She had an infectious personality that I loved. We had some good times (all too few) in the mid 70's when I was in law school where we both lived in the apartments off of the 45th St. ramp. We had a great time over Christmas at my cabin in Welches, Oregon. I know she had her demons and I would have helped in any way possible to bring her peace. I'm sorry I never saw her again but she will always be in my prayers. God bless you Laurie. You'll always be part of my memory from the UW era. I'm so sorry to hear about Laurie passing away. Seems like just yesterday we were at the Kappa house together. To the entire extended Ristine family:

I was a classmate of Laurie's at Clover Park. My family and Laurie's were friends over the years with my late father and Will Ristine being close friends for decades.

I remember Laurie as outgoing, friendly, bright girl who enjoyed the company of her friends. I recall she was involved in many school activities and programs and she always had a smile for me when we would pass in the hallways forty years ago.

Laurie was such a crack-up in high school and college. She was beautiful, funny and quick with the wit. She could always remember a litany of jokes, which kept everyone in stitches. ("I see, said the blind man as he picked up his hammer and saw"). She also had a wonderful voice. I remember spending hours and hours in her living room as she belted out "People" and "Don't Rain on My Parade" with Barbra Streisand singing in the background. She sang "The Lord's Prayer" at my wedding and did a lovely job. We had a lot of good times, Laurie.
