Larry T Josties' Obituary
Larry Josties, beloved husband, stepfather, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many, passed away on Saturday March 5th, 2016 after a brief illness. He was 79 years old. Larry was born on December 6, 1936 and grew up in Tacoma WA. He graduated from Lincoln High School. He earned a degree in education from the University of Puget Sound and accomplished his goal of becoming a teacher. He taught in several school and grade levels in the Tacoma area and Puerto Rico. Larry was a longtime member of Christian Life Center. He had a strong faith that carried him though the difficult time. He valued his prayer group and friendships and felt that his live was enriched & blessed because of them. He was an avid and accomplished golfer, a passionate bridge player, and a faithful theatre fan. He took great pleasure organizing an annual trip to Ashland Oregon, for the Shakespeare Festival for a group of UPS alumni and friends. Larry will be remembered for his love of life, and sense of humor. He always had a joke or a story for any occasion. He often told of his childhood adventures in Roslyn, Washington with his cousin Richard and his two sisters. He was a humble man and a kid at heart. Larry is survived by his wife, Maria, stepsons Marco and Carlos, 2 grandchildren Jaren, and Calee, and his loving sisters Diane and Beatrice. Larry referred to his many nieces and nephews as "the best nieces and nephew in the world". They treasured his strong presence in their lives. Larry's warmth, humor and enthusiasm will be deeply missed by many.
A celebration of Larry's life will be on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 2pm in the Garden Chapel, on the grounds of Mountain View Funeral Home and Memorial Park. A reception will follow in the Willow Room at the Celebration of Life Center, at Mountain View Funeral Home.
Private Inurnment will take place at Mountain View Memorial Park.
