Larry Eugene Beagley's Obituary
Larry Eugene Beagley Larry Eugene Beagley was born September 30, 1947 in Tacoma, Washington, to Lavada Bench (Beagley). He was adopted at age six by Robert Beagley. After a short battle with cancer, Larry passed peacefully at home in Olympia, Washington, on November 23, 2014, with family at his side. Larry attended the University of Washington where he was in Navy ROTC. Upon graduation, he was commissioned a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps and received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. He was quietly proud of serving as a Vietnam era veteran. Larry left the Marines as a Captain to pursue a career in computers and technology. In 1993, at age 46, Larry sought out his biological father, Doyle Talbert, and found a loving family with open arms and warm hearts. He was forever grateful for their love and support. Larry's career in data processing then telecommunications project management took him through four continents. The highlight of his professional career was the three years spent in Europe, where he welcomed the millennium watching the Eiffel Tower fireworks display. Larry was a detailed, numbers oriented individual who enjoyed serving as the much maligned treasurer of Bay Investment Club and volunteering as an AARP tax aid. He loved fishing, crabbing, and boating. He was eternally optimistic about his favorite local sports teams. Most of all, he cherished his life at "The Beach" with loving wife Sue, watching the wildlife and declaring "life can't get much better than this." He will be remembered for his smile and special greeting at beach parties. Larry mentored in a low key nurturing manner, demonstrating his profound love of family, life and all wonders of nature. He is survived by Sue, partner in life for 46 years; son, Curtis; daughter, Kristen Ridgeway; five grandchildren, Charlee and Allison Beagley, and Tyler, Connor and Justin Ridgeway; Kim Beagley; Bill Ridgeway; stepmother, Doris Talbert; siblings, Robert Beagley, Jean Beagley, Gary Talbert and Linda Udell. He was preceded in death by Lavada, Robert, and Doyle. Larry's Celebration of Life will be held December 19, 2014, at 1:00 p.m., at Mountain View Cemetery, Lakewood, WA.
