Kurt H. Johnson's Obituary
Kurt H. Johnson
After a prolonged illness Kurt H. Johnson, Sr. went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 1, 2009. Born September 1, 1937 in Tacoma, WA, he graduated from Lincoln High School. Throughout his early life he loved skiing, drag racing and cars. He campaigned his AA gas dragster "Red Fox" throughout the Northwest. Later, he and his children raced quarter midgets. His wife packed the lunches and did the worrying. Boating, fishing, and camping with the family were also favorites. After serving in the Army he worked for Boeing as a precision machinist before pursuing the career he loved, Real Estate. He loved animals and always had his german shepherds next to him in the pick-up truck. Most importantly he loved and served the Lord and left that legacy to all his children and grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father Roy H. Johnson, mother A. Evelyn Johnson Buchanan. Survived by his wife of 49-1/2 years, Diane (Wood), daughter Dr. Janna Johnson, children Basanti and Scott; son Kurt Jr. (Kathy), children Derek, Brian, and Craig; son Mark (Nerice), children Owen and Katelyn; sister Meridel (Johnson) Brown (H.
