Kristie Johanna Steiger
Kristie, 56, born in Tacoma, passed away at home on March 9, 2012. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Marian McKenzie, and father, Earl Kujala. She was also preceded in death by her eldest sister, Kathleen (Kujala) Whittier.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Steiger; her sons Jason (Vanessa) and Joshua (Stephanie); grandchildren, Alexia, Joshua Jr, and Chace. She is also survived by her dad, Merlin McKenzie; her sisters, Karla Hughes (Don), Karen Darby (Bill), Kathy Unruh (Randy), and Korliss Prohaska (Steve); and her brother, Murle McKenzie (Linda).
Kristie was born in Tacoma, WA to Marian McKenzie and Earl Kujala on October 19, 1955. She was a fun loving child who always had a smile for her family and friends. She was raised in a large extended family. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1974.
She married Raymond and devoted her time to being a stay at home mom raising her two sons. Kristie was a much beloved daughter to Marian especially when her mother encountered health problems prior to passing. Kristie loved animals, especially the several Boston Terriers, she and her family owned.
Over the last few years, she was also a devoted grandmother, helping wherever possible with grandchildren as they were her pride and joy.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 24, from 2 to 5 PM, Mountain View Funeral Home, Willow Room.
