Korrice Jean Pederson "Kori"'s Obituary
Korrice (Kory) Pederson
Korrice Jean Langley went home to be with the Lord on July 13, 2022. Known by most as Kory, she was born November 22, 1949, in Auburn Washington to parents Darwin and Janice Langley. Kory was their only child and loved her parents deeply. Her aunt Jean was also an important influence in her early years and Kory lived with her in Portland Oregon for a time. As a young woman, Kory loved working in the bingo hall in Federal Way with her dear friend Carolyn “Aunty Bugs”. She went on to work as a teller at Puyallup Valley Bank for several years. She later was proud owner of Benton Twin Cedars Florist in Puyallup. Her employees and customers meant the world to her.
In 1998, Kory married the love of her life Bruce Pederson and together they had a beautiful, blended family. Together Bruce and Kory have 13 children, 25 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren, with more great grandchildren on the way. She had a welcoming heart and thought of many more as family. She also had several dear friends who loved her through the years; her “yo yo sisters”, bunco girls, and the red hat ladies.
Kory is preceded in death by her mother Janice Langley, father Darwin Langley, her aunt Jean, and her longtime friend Joel Martin. She leaves behind her husband Bruce, sons Joel, Christopher “Ronnie", Shane (Julianne), Shannon (Jennifer), Shawn (Tessa), and Shyenne (Madison), daughter Kim, son Bryan (Lisa), son Darren (Katie), daughter Teresa (Greg), her sister Sandy (Chris), her dearest friend Debbie, goddaughter Karen (Ron), bonus son Robert (Becky), and bonus son Josh, plus numerous grandchildren,
and great grandchildren. She also had several nieces and nephews. Kory was known for her fierce
devotion to family and her welcoming heart extended way beyond blood relatives. Most important of all Kory loved the Lord. She held tightly to her Catholic faith and was a prayer warrior for all who knew her, their pets included.
She had the Lord in her heart, and she prayed for ALL her friends and family for the Lord to also be in their hearts. She was a strong spirit who was fun and loving, a beloved soul, who will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to truly know the depths of her love, laughter, and kindness. Rosary Prayer Service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home at 4100 Steilacoom Blvd, SW, Lakewood WA on July 27th at 6 pm, Aspen Chapel. Services will be held at Holy Disciples Catholic Church at 10425 187th St E, Puyallup WA on July 28th at 10 am.
