Kira Michelle Phelps' Obituary
To our baby girl, Kira. You will forever be in our memories as our little lioness. Thank you, for persevering 8 months beyond what your doctors expected. While I never saw your eyes, your smile, or heard your laugh, my arms know how you fit and my soul will forever recognize you. Thank you, for your strength and support during the hardest times. Thank you for nudging us, reminding us that you love us as we love you, when hope seemed impossible. Having time to reconcile how different our family would be from what we envisioned with the first ultrasound has not made us ready to say goodbye. The forbidden images of the future, forever lost to our family are the hardest with which to part. The joy of watching you wrap your daddy around your finger as only a daddy’s girl can do. Mother-daughter Hallmark movie marathons. The simple moments of first smiles and first words. And a sister and best friend to your amazing brother. I am sorry. Our time together was too short, but the impact you left will remain the rest of our lives. A part of me died with you on 07 July. And I will forever feel a little empty, until we meet again. We love you, Kira.
