I first met Kim in the 1990s, at a large Microsoft Encarta planning meeting. The conference room was packed, so Kim—petite and soft-spoken—stood to speak. Although tiny in stature, Kim commanded that room; she exuded competence and smarts, and I was immediately impressed by her. Later, as I came to know Kim as a friend, my respect only grew, complimented by affection. Kim was careful with people; she listened, offered kindness, possessed a generous heart. Her family clearly adored her, and she them.
Oh, Kim. You are so greatly missed.
