Hinson, Kevin's Obituary
Kevin James Hinson, age 61, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 5th, 2026, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Washington after a six-month battle with lung cancer.
Born in Spokane, Washington on February 24th, 1965, to Hugh and Dorothy Hinson, he is survived by three children – Nick, Megan, and Jacob – and three brothers – Chris, Mike, and Jeff. A veteran of the United States Air Force, and truck driver for more than a decade, Kevin brought humor and joy to each and every job he worked.
His sense of humor, infectious laughter and hospitality truly shined in any encounter he had. Whether he was talking about the next NASCAR race, or showing live performances by his favorite bands, you could see that he cared about bringing levity and laughter to every situation. You’d normally see him sitting about, smoking a cigarette and sipping on a Coors Light, his iconic staple.
His grit and determination, in the face of insurmountable odds, is something that will live on through his family. He wasn’t a quitter – but a fighter, and that is something that no one can take away from him. He was, truly, a one-of-a-kind person and will be deeply missed by both family and friends alike.
Cheers, Kev. Keep a few cold ones ready for us, and make sure the mountains are blue.
