Dear Lisa and kids,
Many years ago, Scott worked with Kent at Princeton. For over a year Kent got off of graveyard shift and then worked several hours during the day helping start our contracting business. I will always remember when Kent learned how to do a sink repair... all of my makeup was melted by the time Scott and Kent left the bathroom sink area, they had used a heat gun, and not noticed everything they were aiming it at. It was so funny, seeing the look on their faces, when they realized what they had done. Kent always had a smile on his face and a willingness to help others. Dearest Lisa, Kirsten and Austin,
I never had the opportunity to meet Kent but he had a profound effect on my life for he saved the life of the husband of my daughter and the father of my grandchildren. I will always be profoundly grateful to him. At the same time I deeply grieve the loss of your husband and your father.
In His Word God says He is the husband of the widow and the father of the fatherless. And I know that is true. I can only commend you into His care. May He give you peace, comfort and strength.

I worked out with Kent both at PAC and then at LA Fitness, although he made it in the gym more often than I did! It was always good to see his face and to catch up with him. I was selling Real Estate for most of that time so he would often talk about his mom, since she sold real estate as well. He would also talk about not getting his boat out as much as he wanted to, among other things, and of course, he would always talk about taking his kids to all of the BMX events! It was obvious to me how much his family meant to him. I ran into him down in Sumner this past summer at the BMX track. I remember his daughter saying "Dad, you know someone everywhere we go"! THAT TO ME is a testimony to who Kent was. He had such a great personality and could talk to and be a friend to anyone. I will truly miss him, and our talks, as will so many others. I know that these words I send you will not make the pain go away. I only hope that you know that as these days pass, your husband, and dad has not been forgotten. I was honored to be able to attend his service at the dome. Though I did not know him personally, I truly feel a sense of loss. I have his sticker in my rear window and on the 28th of every month, I wear the shirt in his memory. Our heartfelt prayers are with you Kent and your dear family. We did not have the honor to meet you but we have heard so many wonderful things about you. We feel that we can add you to the list of many brave and wonderful police officers we know. You will not be forgotten that we know for sure after seeing all the wonderful people that lined the the streets in Puyallup just for you. We stood across the street with our small grandson and looked across to the entire student body of Kalles Jr. High. You would have been so proud of all those young adults that came out in the rain to honor you and your family. Kent you have and will continue to touch many many lives. Our little grandson will not remember but we will tell him of your bravery and sacrifice and how proud of you and your fellow officers we are and always will be. Kent was a friend of mine in school fruitland elementry and Rogers High.it has been 20 + years since we last seen each other I remember what a cool guy he was and how I wished I new him in are later years.
I am so proud to of known shuch a great man he will be missed.
