Kenneth Thomas McFarland's Obituary
Kenneth Thomas McFarland, 84, of Graham, WA passed away on Thursday 08-01-2024 surrounded by his loved ones.
Tom was born on 12-04-1939 to Kenneth & Elizabeth McFarland in Grants Pass, OR. After Tom graduated from Lincoln Highschool in 1958, he met Patricia Trader and they married in 1960 and had 3 children (Cathy, David & Debbie)
He had moved on to cook in several different restaurants (Golf course, Dave’s in Milton & Lenti’s Restaurant in Tacoma) and Tom was able to fulfill his lifelong dream and purchased the Chalet Restaurant in Orting, WA on May 1st, 1977.
Tom then met the love of his life and wife of 43 years, Rhona at the Chalet and went on to marry her in 1981 and they enjoyed owning and operating the Chalet restaurant together for 23 years making many friends along the way.
In 2000, Tom & Rhona sold the Chalet Restaurant so Tom could enjoy retirement doing the things he enjoyed most to include gardening, yard work, home cooking, sitting on the back porch feeding the deer, birds & squirrels. He truly enjoyed the outdoors on his 10 acres and being with nature.
Tom was predeceased by Kenneth, Elizabeth, & Coralee. He is survived by Wife Rhona, Children Cathy, David, Debbie, Sister Melissa and 4 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and many other loved family members.
There will be a Celebration of Life to follow at the Orting Eagles at 3:30 pm.
