Sad to hear about Ken's passing. We served together in Belgium for over three years. We were both Sergeants and he was often over at my house during off duty hours as we really enjoyed playing sports games. He was a wonderful friend and my wife Sher and I had many happy times with him. I left the service in August of 1975 to return to college and later returned to active duty as an infantry officer in 1978 and we kept in touch. Ken and I talked later on the phone when he was a senior NCO in Korea and I was a Captain company commander. We lost touch over the years as we were both busy with families and the Army. But I always considered him to be my best friend from those early days in the Service and just a great guy.

I served with Ken Burkhammer in Korea during Martial Law in 1979. He was my supervisor in the AMME-Seoul. He promoted me to Sergeant. He was a good man and an outstanding NCO. Loved Min and bowling at the Yongsan bowling alley.
