Kelly Marie Rose's Obituary
Kelly M. (Jennings) Rose
Kelly M. (Jennings) Rose, age 44, lost her battle with cancer on March 8, 2009, and passed away at her home in Puyallup, WA. Her family was by her side. Kelly was born on July 24, 1964, in Lakewood, WA, to Brian Jennings and Cheryl (Jennings) Rosskopf. Kind hearted, friendly, spiritual, and with positive energy, she made friends easily and had a large circle of close friends. Kelly graduated from Wilson High School in 1982. In 1984, Kelly's adventurous nature had her moving to Denver, where she worked for TRW. From Denver she moved to the New York City TRW offices. In 1984, homesickness and her desire to be with friends and family brought her back to Tacoma. Kelly soon found work in her chosen career as a Commercial Property Manager. Kelly worked for the Neil Walter Company in Tacoma, and then CB Richards in Seattle. In October of 2008, she accepted a position with the Egis Company of Tacoma, and shortly thereafter was diagnosed with cancer. In 1990 Kelly married Frank Rose in Olympia. It was this union which gave rise to one of Kelly's favorite sayings, "Kelly Rose - such a beautiful name." In 1993, their daughter, Mackenzie, was born. "Kenzie" was the delight of Kelly's life and the two had a very special relationship and bond and loved spending "girl-time" together. She was involved with her daughter's gymnastics, dance, and Puyallup High School cheerleading activities. She was very proud of Mackenzie and all that she had accomplished. Kelly and Frank divorced in 2004, but both focused their energy on raising Mackenzie and remained good friends. An avid snowboarder, Mariner, and Seahawks fan, she loved going to games, cheering loudly for the teams. Kelly had boundless energy and lived life to the fullest. However, cancer confronted her with that mountain she could not climb; that disease she could not beat. Kelly was preceded in death by her father, Brian Jennings. She is survived by her daughter, Mackenzie; mother and step-father, Cheryl Jennings Rosskopf (Karl), Olympia, WA; brother, Sam Jennings, and nephews, Taylor Jennings and Zackery Willis, Tacoma; Grandmother, Carolyn (Simons) Boone, Olympia; fianc Rory Doering, Tacoma; Uncle Dan (Phoebe) Simons, Denver, CO; Aunt Pearl (Pete) Fjugstad, Randle, WA; Aunt Thelma Smart, Renton; and step-sisters, Kari Rosskopf, Yelm; Kelli Bennett (Bruce), Olympia; Kimberly Carter (Rob) of Sedro Woolley, WA.; and numerous other relatives and friends. A "Celebration of Life" service will be held on Tuesday, March 24, at 4 p.m., at the Puyallup Foursquare Church, 601 9th Ave. SE, Puyallup. Reception following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kelly Rose Memorial Fund at any Columbia Bank. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home. 584-0252.
