Kay Ruth Whitlock's Obituary
Kay Ruth Whitlock August 11, 1936 - August 23, 2009
On the morning of August 23, 2009, Kay Ruth Whitlock cast loose her earthly bindings to enter into the next world, devoid of pain and suffering. Kay, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, moved on to the next world following a long battle with congestive heart failure. She was a woman of great compassion, with an open heart and open door for anyone needing solace and refuge from the world. Kay put her generous heart and education to work by spending over 20 years in service to the youth of the greater Pierce County area as an employee of Dyslin's Boys Ranch in the late 70's and later as a guard and control specialist at Remann Hall Youth Detention Center. In the early 90's, Kay retired from service but not from life as she went on to raise one grandson and care for her family and all others in need.
Kay was preceded in death by her mother Ruth McIntyre and step-father Roy T. McIntyre, as well as several beloved aunts and uncles and her Grandfather Fred Lindenau. She is survived by her three children Ruth Kalles with her husband Norman, Howard Whitlock, and Elaina Whitlock; as well as her six grandchildren Ryaan Whitlock, Morganne Kalles, Anthony Whitlock, Justin Whitlock, Spencer Whitlock, and Elaina-Lee; two great-grandchildren Carsen and Keiantae; and her younger sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Mike Pima and their children Chris Pima (wife Malia) and Katherine Pima-Goetz (husband John).
Services are to be announced at a later date via email to all interested. Inquiries may be made at [email protected].
