Aunty Kathy it is hard to believe you are gone. You were an important part of our lives despite the distance that separated us. I loved you. Your madness was as infectious as your laugh and I was looking forward to your next visit so much. Thank you for caring about me, my fur babies and especially my mum. I will do my best to help others, not take this crazy world so seriously and laugh loudly in your honour. Rest in peace. Love your other NZ niece Jennifer
Aunty Kathy, your dog Mugs was a great friend to a 7 year old fresh off the plane from Australia and the trip out to your workplace with all the animals was an absolute treat - only as an adult did I realise they were destined for the research lab:( During our 6 months in the States meeting our American relatives for the first time you quickly became my favourite Aunt. Fast forward about 15 years when you and Mom met Jen and I in Seattle to take us to Grandma’s for our surprise visit, again staying at yours and Dennis’s house was a home away from home, the smell of coffee and watching the squirrels in the trees outside, simple pleasures. You were a best friend and best sister to my Mom, I thought you were both on drugs when you visited me in Dunedin as I had never seen her laugh so much, or pee her pants:) but for Mom to have you in her life I will always be thankful. Yes Kathy, as my dear sister Carol said you were always unselflessly ready to help those who needed help be it family or friends. I will always remember our shared adventures and some of the most hysterical times of my life. I have many many stories I could tell and will always remember from our infamous rafting adventure to our numerous fishing and holiday goof ups. I recall our hour long phone conversations to each other when we both needed just someone to listen.
Almost 40 years Kathy, I speak as though you are still here and In away you still are to me. You will always be with me in my mind and in my heart and you will now visit me like your Dennis does, in my dreams.

Kathy you definitely left us before we were ready to let you go. You leave a huge hole in our hearts but know that you are now free of pain and at peace.
Sadly missed and dearly loved by your New Zealand family, your sister by another Mr and your Brother-in-law George, nieces Georgia, Jennifer and Greg, Cynthia, Sam and great niece Harriet. We were all looking forward to your 2016 New Zealand journey.
