Jean passed away on the 19th anniversary of my mom. Dad passed away last December 7th and Jean was a valuable neighbor to my dad. Dad and mom were there for Jean and Oscar when needed and vise versa. I was so surprised to hear of Jean passing it seemed to be so fast. She came many times over to dads and visited with him just to visit and other times coming when I would call because of needing someone to stay with dad while the need to keep an apt and one of his caregivers could not be there. She will be missed as I would talk once in awhile to her and share memories of dad, mom and Oscar. Comfort from our Lord to you all in your loss of Mom, Grandma, sister and each roll she played. I grew up in South Tacoma with the Karch family and was in Jean's class at Visitation School. I didn't see her until many years later when I was assigned to Central School.

She and Oscar were top people and excellent workers. I feel I'm a better person for knowing her.

I worked with Oscar and Jean at the Central Administration Building of Tacoma School District. They were a great team. We had good breaks of sharing food, stories, and memories. It was great to be at their home on occasions. Oscar and Jean were friends with a lot of us. They shared with everyone; especially about the old cars and giving tips how to fix them. I look forward to seeing them in the next life with all our old co-workers.
