Mel, this may be the second note I have sent. I hope this one becomes more deliberately undefined short version: I cannot truly put into words what the presence of you and Kathy in church has meant to me. This is selfish, I know, but you two have been rocks of faith for me (and Mom, too. She loved you two. She just couldn't quite understand how Kathy and I could get to cackling so much over the phone. That surgery will do that to a person.) And you continue to be that rock of faith.
May you lean on your family-including your church family- as you begin this phase of your life. And if we don't meet your needs, but boot a good one and let know how to straighten up.

Remembering all the good times we had at Pt Townsend and other jazz venues along with our friendship with Kathy and Mel. Kathy was a true fighter and seemed to always have a positive attitude throughout her illness. Wishing Mel and all the family the very best.

Kathy was an amazing person, she had such a great upbeat attitude with her illness. I could always see her glow when her grandchildren were up at the altar during the children's sermon.
