Kathleen L. Perry's Obituary
Kathy was born to Jay and Donna Beach January 10, 1962 in Tacoma, WA, and was taken from us March 7, 2014 in a tragic accident. Heaven must have needed an Angel on that day to have taken you from us.
One thing for sure; our sister lived her life to the fullest, and passed doing something she loved. We all will miss you terribly, and there will always be a hole in our hearts! Kathy was not someone who would let dust settle in her tracks; she always lived her life to the fullest and wasn't afraid to do or try anything.
She was a small-business owner from house framing then on to the dog show world, where she made so many friends and touched so many lives. Her last business adventure was dog grooming in Gig Harbor, WA. She left a lasting impression on everyone she met. You always had a great time when she was around. She had such a generous spirit and she could brighten the room with her smile, even in the darkest situations. She was a Shining Star!
Our sister - to look at her was to see a girly girl, with her hair, nails and make-up always done, but then she would turn around and be out hunting and fishing. She was an avid hunter and fisherman, and could out-fish anyone. She introduced me to what she called 'combat' fishing on the Skok River - I'll never forget the first time fishing the Skok with her, and she hooked one after another. The guys fishing there would glare at her 'cause she out-fished them, and if someone tried to take her place on the river she wouldn't hesitate to go back to her spot and push them out (that was great to see). I will miss fishing with you, Sis! As her friends from the dog show world would say, "nobody rocked big hair and 5" heels like she did"!!
Kathy met Mick in September, and when she met him didn't know that he was the one she would marry in a few weeks, but she had found happiness, and married Mick November 29, 2013. Kathy told us that she was sure about Mick and that he's the one, she's never felt that way before, and she felt in her soul he's the one for her. She had finally found the happiness she'd always been searching for. They were just starting a new chapter in both their lives, Kathy was be-coming active in the Karate world, and loved Harleys so much that she finally got her bike and was living life to the fullest. Her last day on Earth was spent with her loving husband, doing what she loved, riding her Harley. She told Mick "I'm having the best day of my life and could ride forever."
Kathy is survived by her husband Mick Perry, parents Jay and Donna Beach, sisters and brother Kari (Pat) Lambert, Kim (Scott) Tveten, David (Shauna) Beach, Jennifer (Derrick) Johnson, and Stephanie (Brent) Schlegel, aunts and uncles Carla (Tom) Hunter, Jan Ormsby, Ron (Chris) Mertz, and Bill Mertz, nieces and nephews Brandon and Bryan Lambert, Matthew Hausman, Jack Beach, Cameron Tveten, Olivia Beach, and Hailey Tveten, and numerous cousins. A special thank you to Jan Sainker Reed for always being there for Kathy, she loved you like a sister, and we are grateful that she had you to confide in.
Celebration of her Life will be held Sunday, March 16th, 2pm, at Mountain View Cemetery in the Celebration of Life Building, Aspen Chapel, reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Chew Dog Rescue at chewdogrescue.org, or mail to 5803 125th St. Ct. NW, Gig Harbor, WA 98332-8657.
