Katherine Marie Williams' Obituary
Katherine Marie Williams, 78 of Des Moines, Washington passed away on August 24, 2020. Katherine will be missed and is loved by many family and friends. Katherine Marie Ervin, was born December 2, 1941 the oldest child of Willie Ervin Jr and Della Toole Ervin in Bessemer, Alabama. After a couple of years, Katherine’s family moved to Tacoma, Washington where she attended Salishan, and Lister Elementary schools, Gault Jr. High, and Lincoln High School where she graduated in 1959 at age 17. After graduation, Katherine attended Tacoma vocational, Knapp Business College, and Griffin-Murphy Business School. She worked as a temp at the IRS, until being hired at The Boeing Company in 1962. Katherine started at Plant II in Seattle, and later transferred to the Auburn plant where she worked for 36 years as a Keypunch Operator. Katherine married twice in her lifetime; first marrying Christopher Glover with whom she had to sons Christopher L. Glover Jr., and Stephen L. Glover. Chris and Katherine divorced both remarried and continued to co-parent. In July 1974, Katherine married Donald Williams Sr. Donald had 2 sons, Donald Williams Jr. and Eric Williams. Donald and Katherine were married 31 years until Donald’s passing in 2006. Katherine enjoyed attending her children’s sporting events and performances. In retirement years, she could be seen at various stadiums cheering for football games, and track meets for her grandchildren. Katherine was preceded in death by her husband Donald H Williams Sr., stepson Eric R. Williams, father Willie Ervin Jr, mother Idella Ervin, sister Pauline McDaniel, and brother Willie Henry Ervin. She is survived by her sons Christopher Glover, Stephen Glover (Tomara), stepson Donald H. Williams Jr., grandsons Stephen E. Glover, Mason Glover, Malik Glover, brother Jimmy Ervin (Alana), sisters Betty Ervin, Geraldine Ervin, and a host of nieces, nephews.
