Katharina M. Wentick's Obituary
Our pillar of family strength succumbed to a long, but courageous battle joining our familyÂ's own St. Nicholas on August 8, 2006. She was surrounded by her family: the love of her life and soul-mate of 56 years, Donald G. Wentick; her daughters and their families, Dianna Hart; Barbara, Steve, Mike, and Chris Kuffner; Beverly and David OÂ'Dea, Adam and David Palmer. MomÂ's life was built on courage, starting with bombings in Germany as a young child during HitlerÂ's reign, to a military wife and mother whose husband was deployed countless times into war zones, to a 1995 diagnosis of lung cancer, when she was told she had 3-6 months to live. She fought courageously, overcoming many obstacles and hardships. Throughout it all, she remained our pillar of strength; the woman we admire most in life. Always putting the needs of others before the needs of herself, we can hear her say to us in our time of sadness: Â"Head up and shoulders back. Stop crying. You are, after all, a Wentick.Â" We will miss you terribly, but we know you are now finally free. Remember your promise, and we will keep ours. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. ClareÂ's ICU and MAMC, especially Drs. Reese and Ling.Funeral mass will be at 11:30am, Saturday, August 12, 2006 at St. John Bosco Catholic Church. Burial will be at Mountain View Memorial Park.
