Karla Maria Richardson's Obituary
Karla Maria (Kittner) Richardson died August 24, 2019 at 9:28 a.m. at her daughter’s home in Tacoma, Washington surrounded by family members. Our mother died after a battle with heart failure which ended with multiple strokes at the age of 76. She was born in Wernigerode, Germany on April 28, 1943 to Elisabeth Emma Sissel and Richard Manya. She moved to the United States in 1971 after marrying Sgt. Sam John Richardson and after a few military tours she settled in Washington State in 1981 until the time of her death. She is survived by her son Sam J. Richardson, Jr., and daughters Andrea T. Morgan, Michaele Crumpton, and Elizabeth Richardson. After her divorce, she had a hand in raising Sophia DeJesus her first 4 years while her mother Andrea served in the military. She also raised her two grandchildren Robert and Charlotte Richardson due to her daughter Elizabeth’s illness. Towards the end of her life, she was taken care of by her granddaughter Christina Weathersbee and son Sam. Anyone who knew Karla, knew that her greatest pleasure in life was coffee, good food, books, and gardening. Our dearest mother and grandmother will be missed and remembered.
A committal ceremony for Karla will be held 11:30 AM Friday, August 30, 2019 at Mountain View Memorial Park, Lakewood.
