I met Karla decades ago. She was very much a part of my family for so long. I worked with her in her 'new' clinic in Maple Valley at its inception. She spent countless times with my family at birthdays, Thanksgivings, Christmas'. She had a great sense of humor, an admirable work ethic and was beloved by all who knew her. I got to know her mom, brothers and nieces & nephews through all of the birthday parties they attended. She adored her nieces & nephews SO much.. Karla was a very lovely women, fiercely smart, dedicated doctor, generous of time & spirit and all around great lady.
She will be missed.
One very specific memory; Karla was my sisters best friend for a really long time, Karla was at my wedding when one of the gals who was supposed to read a poem during the ceremony forgot to bring it with her. (this was way before instant google). Karla spent 45-minutes to an hour looking through the bible to find an appropriate reading, crisis avoided. She also 'bribed' my 4 year old nephew with a Spiderman figurine (no clue where she got it) to stand & smile for endless pictures. It worked and our family photos turned out perfect with Karla right in front and my smiling 4 year old nephew holding a Spiderman figure.
The world is a little darker knowing she's passed. She fought so hard. I treasure the memories my sister had with her family, that I had with Karla. She is loved by her family, her friends, her clients and those who's life she touched.

I met Karla years ago when I became her inside sale pharmaceutical rep. We would joke back and forth and became great friends over the years. She started to invite us up for baseball games after finding out my husband had played ball. We shared many great memories and some sad ones as well. She treated several our animals and peacefully helped my husbands companion Zelda, move on to a place where she is patiently waiting for us. We moved to Missouri just before she passed away. I had talked to her in late January. We were sad we were not able to make the 2 hour drive due to leaving. I wish I would have just done it. My heart hurts but I know my dear dear friend is not missing a Mariners game and she will always have a seat at their spring training in Arizona. Just learned of Karla's passing which was announced in the Washington State University Magazine. Karla was such a dear friend during our years at WSU. Karla was a wonderful person who was so easy to talk to and laugh with. I will cherish my memories of her always. My condolences to her Brother and family. She will be so missed.

So sorry to learn of Karla's passing. She was a wonderful vet and an even greater person. I met Karla for the first time in Newport Hills and she was instrumental in helping us save a puppy that we thought would have to be put down. She made herself available anytime we need advice or help. A puppy (Johnny Angel) that should not have lived for more than about 48 hours was my companion for 17 1/2 years greatly in part to the efforts of Karla. And then she was there for Kiska. Thank You Karla you will be missed.

Just learned of Dr. Mooers passing and had hoped over the years that she had prevailed over her illness. So, very sad. Heartbreaking.
I first encountered Dr. Mooers at the Newport clinic, and later moved to Maple Valley to find she was a local, respected and loved veterinarian here. There is now a profound loss.
She was a bright light on this earth, and impacted my life. And, I have had full trust in her expertise over the years. So sorry for her loved ones.
Please know what an impact she had on my life and to my pets over the years. So missed.

We were clients of Dr Mooers for many years. We found out tonight 2/28 and am so deeply saddened to hear of her passing, she was the such a wonderful, caring person, she was truly one of a kind. I have fond memories of our friendly spirited rivalry between the 9ers and Seahawks. Also our lunches when the family departed on a cruise from San Francisco. Many good memories of summer vacations spent with family and relatives. RIP Karla
