Karen Marie Otis' Obituary
Karen Marie Otis, was born on February 11, 1948, in Tacoma, WA. She peacefully departed this world on May 7, 2024, at Cottesmore Life care in Gig Harbor, after bravely battling lung cancer. She was 76 and passed just two years after her husband, Roland Otis.
She is survived by her children: Jeff (Christy) Otis, Lisa (George) Weicker, Tami (Keith) Galvin, and Teena (Tony) Roehl. Grandma O, as she was affectionately known to her nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren will miss her tremendously.
Growing up in the Northwest, Karen's roots ran deep in the region. She graduated from Wilson High School in 1966. She met her beloved husband, Roland Otis and married on April 26, 1975. Together, they built a life in Gig Harbor, where they shared countless experiences and wonderful memories.
In her professional life, Karen dedicated herself to her work at Totem Ocean Express, contributing her skills and passion to the company until her retirement. She loved to play cards, especially Pinnacle, her Poker and Yahtzee machines and loved to gamble at Casinos with Roland.
Karen's passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew her. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, friends, and extended family mourn her loss deeply.
