Karen Maureen Myricks' Obituary
Karen Myricks, was born in Detroit Michigan on December 24, 1962. She was the fifth child of the late Rose Marie Myricks Harris. Karen was a rare precious jewel; whose bright light illuminated wherever she went.
While In Michigan, Karen achieved her Business Administration degree from Wayne County Community College, as well as a Dental Assistant degree from Crockett Vocational. She worked many years in the field of Dentistry, eventually went on to become a Dental Office Manager.
In 2001, Karen moved to Washington State, briefly working as a Guest Service Agent at the Key Arena. Thereafter, she went back to the Dental field where she worked 6 more years.
She loved her family and truly appreciated the relationships that her siblings built with her children In her absence.
Karen and her sister Crystal shared a unique relationship which allowed them to spend quality time together on a regular basis. They often would go shopping in each other’s closet Jewelry, purses and shoes were Karen’s favorites.
Karen met Lisa McLemore in 2008 they were in a loving and committed relationship until she passed on April 26th, 2014. Their faith and keeping God first was a priority in their lives. They enjoyed watching movies, going on mini vacations, and spending time with their dogs (Mini-Me and Feather).
People who encountered her, knew that she loved the Lord with all of her heart. She was an Evangelist and prayer Warrior who took her mission seriously. Remembering that it was not her will but God’s will, being done in her life. She believed that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.
Karen eventually found her true passion as a home Healthcare Provided. She committed herself to the health and well being of her clients. Karen’s kind heart and generosity were an inspiration to her friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her mother Rose Marie Harris, her sisters Candace Myricks and Chandra Myricks.
Karen leaves her memories to be cherished, by her life partner, Lisa McLemore, son, Artwann Pore’, Daughter, Shayla Pore’, four Grandsons, Makhi, Donovan, Demetris, Damari; Sisters, Wanda Williamson, Terry Myricks, Crystal Harris-Hunt and Ellen Walker-Harris; Brothers, William Myricks, Derrick Myricks-Harris and Marvin Myricks; Nephew Jamel Ervin; and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
