I met Karen in Kindergarten. I remember being really nervous, but our teacher walked her over to me and said "Karen, meet Karen. From that day on, we were the best of childhood friends.
I have so many happy memories spent with Karen and her family growing up. From Disneyland trips, their cabin up at Lassen, countless hours in their pool, every Halloween, and surviving the nuns at St Joseph School!! We went to different high schools, made different sets of friends, and didn't see each other as much. I did see her occasionally over the years. She was there to share in my happiness on my wedding day 37 years ago. We did find each other on Facebook a few years back, after we had moved our family to WA 16 years ago. Our lives both being busy, we never had the chance to connect in person, but she always did and will have a special place in my heart. I wish I could be at the memorial, but we are traveling that weekend. My condolences to Darrel , Jeanette, and all Karen's family.
