Karen Blatman-Byers' Obituary
Karen Blatman-Byers, 66, passed away in Puyallup, Washington on September 3, 2023. Karen was born in San Antonio, Texas on December 9, 1956.
Karen graduated from Evergreen State University with her Bachelor’s degree and began her first job with the Department of Corrections at Mc Neil Island as a librarian in 1984. She worked for the Department of Corrections for 37 years and ended her prestigious career as a Community Corrections Supervisor. Karen retired in August of 2021.
In April of 1989, Karen married her husband, Richard. They were married for 31 years before Rick passed in October of 2020. Karen and Rick enjoyed camping, traveling, Seahawks and most of all, spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Karen is survived by two of her brothers, Mark and Scott, two daughters, Allyson and Stephanie, her beloved son-in-laws, Aaron and Jared, and her grandchildren, Theodore, Evelyn, Lily, and Phillip.
Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Karen at a graveside service at Mountain View Funeral Home on September 30 at 1 PM.
