Karen Sue Alexander's Obituary
A Life Remembered: Karen Alexander
On the quiet evening of December 24th, Karen Alexander of Puyallup, Washington, passed away, leaving behind a world she had inhabited with a quiet, enduring strength. Her departure on Christmas Eve carries a particular weight, as Karen was the last surviving member of her immediate family. With her passing, a long and storied chapter of our family history comes to its final rest.
Karen was a woman who found her greatest solace in the traditions she loved. She had a deep, lifelong affection for the spirit of the Christmas season—the warmth of the lights and the feeling of a world slowed down. For Karen, the heart of any good day was found in the simple pleasure of good food and the presence of those she held dear.
While she was the final link to her own siblings, Karen was never truly alone. She leaves behind a community of deeply loyal friends who were her chosen family. These friendships were the pillars of her life, providing laughter, support, and a sense of belonging through the years. To her friends, Karen was a constant presence, a shared meal, and a familiar voice that will be profoundly missed.
In her later years, her grandchildren, Abby and Andrew, were a source of great pride. It was in their lives and their futures that she saw the continuation of a family line she had carried for so long. She was the final bridge to a past generation, carrying the memories of her parents and siblings until the very end.
Though life’s journeys are rarely easy and often complicated, the end of Karen’s story is one of peace. She has gone to reunite with the family she lost long ago, returning to the beginning of her story. She is survived by her daughter, Angi; her grandchildren, Abby and Andrew; and the many friends who became her family along the way.
We will gather to acknowledge her journey and the history she represented this Friday, January 23rd.
