Karen Elizabeth (George) Akioka's Obituary
Karen E. Akioka, 74 of Tacoma, Washington passed away October 2, 2016. Born in Tacoma General Hospital, Tacoma, Washington on April 14. 1942. She gradated from Franklin Pierce High School and Bates Technical College and became a dental assistant. Traveled to Germany with her husband for a three year tour of duty. Returned to the USA and spent four years at Fort Hood, Texas before returning home to Tacoma, Washington. She bowled at Pacific Lanes, then help run the Junior Bowling program for a few years, then started working as a waitress at Pacific Lanes restaurant. She enjoyed serving food, talking and having fun with almost all the bowlers which became her friends. She will join her daughter Shirley and granddaughter Haley that predeceased her. She is survived by her husband Roy J. Akioka, son Erik, wife Denise, grandchildren Desiraye, Joshua, Trinity, Gabriel, Casey, Ashley, Husband Mike and great grandchildren Zoey and Killian Zarcensky.
