Kalapu Vae's Obituary
Kalapu Savusa Vae, 74, of Federal Way, Washington, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2017, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Gig Harbor, WA. She was born November 24, 1942, in Nu’uuli, American Samoa, the daughter of Ma’aele Mageo and Kalapu Savusa.
On February 15, 1964, Kalapu married Fa’ataui Noa Vae. They were blessed with four children, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. After 49 years of marriage, Fa’ataui passed
away on March 19, 2013.
She is survived by three children, Nanati Vae Turituri (Manupo) of Santa Clara, CA, Kay Vae of Springfield, GA, and Grace Vae Vili of Fife, WA; seven grandchildren, Anthony Vae, Nathan Vae,
Christopher Vae, Jordan Vae, Manupo Turituri, Jr, Amaya Vili, and Londyn White; great-grandchildren, Christopher Vae, Mason Vae, and Jaxon Vae; two sisters, Nanati Savusa of Nu’uuli,
American Samoa, and Vaiolagi Pierce of Ewa Beach, Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by her son Suevale Vae; great-grandson Tyson Vae; and brother Malaia Savusa.
Visitation will be held 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Mountain View Funeral Home. A Funeral Service for Kalapu will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2017 in Garden Chapel, with Interment to follow at Mountain View Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Lakewood.
