Jung Yup Tate's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Jung Yup Tate
November 15th, 1947 - March 30th, 2025
We are deeply saddened to share that our cherished mom, Jung Yup Tate, passed away on March 30th, 2025, in Edmonds, WA. Born in South Korea on November 15th, 1947, she brought joy, warmth, and love into the lives of everyone around her.
Mom was the embodiment of hard work and determination. Her honesty was a guiding light for us—she always told the truth, but it was tempered with love. She taught us to value integrity and to stand firm in our beliefs.
Our Sundays were filled with laughter and the mouthwatering scents of her cooking. The dinners she made weren't just meals; they were expressions of her love. The New Year's rice cakes she prepared became a beloved family tradition, bringing us together and connecting us to our heritage.
She found joy in cooking, music, and travel. Watching her favorite K Dramas on TV was a pastime she adored, often sharing her reflections with us and inviting us into her world. Her long walks were moments she cherished, and sometimes we joined her, turning them into unforgettable memories.
Mom's kindness and generosity knew no bounds. We, her sons Benjamin Tate and Aaron Tate, are forever grateful for the love and wisdom she shared with us. She wasn't just our mother; she was our confidante, mentor, and friend.
She is now reunited with her parents, our grandparents Kyu Dong Yu and Soon Ak So. While we miss her dearly, we find solace in the countless beautiful memories she left us.
Her spirit lives on in the traditions she started and the values she passed down. We'll honor her by living with the same honesty, kindness, and determination she showed us every day.
Mom, you'll always be in our hearts. Thank you for everything.
