June C. Hayes' Obituary
People who loved her often called her “June Bug”. She loved that. Perhaps because she was known to customize the names of those who SHE loved. They seemed to appreciate it in the same way as she did. If you had a story to share, she wanted to hear every last detail. She wasn’t happy if she didn’t have visitors regularly. That never changed. It was touching to see her face light up any time an unexpected guest came by.
June Bug was a bit of a persistent sort. Her long earthly tenure was an example of that. She nearly made it to age 94, missing it by one hour and ten minutes. It was executively decided that since it was past midnight SOMEWHERE in the United States, she qualified for a birthday. She earned it. If only she could have stayed long enough for dessert, as it was her favorite course. NOBODY made a Black Forest cake like she did, as well as her ever-popular “Robert Redford” torte. Her cherished sister Beatrice fancied herself as the baker in the family, but June had a few tricks up her sleeve that even Bea couldn’t dispute. June adored Bea, who was her only sibling.
Her spirit is carried on by her children Michael and Vicki, nieces Geraldine (with husband Michael), Trudy and Teresa and nephew Rick. She also leaves behind her coveted “grand-dog”, “Poofers”. They loved each other deeply. Edward, June’s husband of 33 years, passed in 1994. Frequent travelers, June continued that tradition in his honor. Social butterfly that she was, her collection of lady friends accompanied her regularly on trips. She took her final flight on Wednesday, June 26thand rest assured that she went about immediately making heavenly travel plans with Edward and the friends that ascended before her.
