June E. Schultz's Obituary
June Schultz, 104, was born Sept. 14, 1905, in Tacoma, to Orville and Emma Hostetter, and passed away peacefully June 10, 2010, in Longview at the Hospice Care Center. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1923 and lived most of her life in the Tacoma area. For the past 15 years she lived next to her daughter in Silver Lake. June married Robert E. Schultz in 1924. They had four children. She worked 21 years at the Fort Lewis Transportation Department, retiring at the age of 67. June served the Lord playing the piano, organ, teaching Sunday school, etc., at Calvary Baptist and Central Baptist in Tacoma. She played the organ and piano for the Castle Rock Baptist Church until she was 99 years old. June was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert E. Schultz, in 1966; a son, Lewis W. Schultz, in 1982; a brother, Orville J. Hostetter, in 2005; a grandson, Craig Mendenhall; and two great-grandchildren, Brian Todd and Stephanie Cox.
She is survived by two sons, Robert J. Schultz and James R. Schultz, both of Puyallup; a daughter, Emajune "June" Mendenhall of Silver Lake; 12 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 1:30p.m., June 24 at Mt. View Memorial Park in Lakewood, Wash. A memorial service at Praise Covenant Church in Tacoma will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tacoma Rescue Mission. Arrangements are by Mountain View Funeral Home, Memorial Park & Crematory, Lakewood.
