Julia Anne Winkel Carson's Obituary
Julia, age 36 was born on Oct. 28, 1973 in Seattle and passed away Sept. 4, 2010 at home in Puyallup. She is survived by her sons Roman (15) and Zev (11) Winkel, her stepdaughter Chelsea and their father Derek. She is also survived by her mother Pat Davies and Al Kageler, father BIll Wilkinson (Katie), brothers Mike (Amanda), Paul, Ric, and many nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Fife High School (1992) and employed by Group Health Co-operative. Julia battled brain cancer for more than nine years and had a stem cell transplant last summer at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Her goal was to raise her sons by example to face life's challenges with grace, courage, humor, bravery and poise under the most difficult of circumstances. She had so many friends and family that loved her, visited her, cheered her with phone calls and pampered her with meals of steaks, Mexican food, grinders and chocolate. Friends and family will tell you that she lit up a room when she entered, loved Coach purses and would never dream of turning down Tiffany jewelry, but her real treasure was Roman and Zev. Praise and thanks to Group Health doctors and nurses that cared for Julia for so many years. A memorial service to celebrate Julia's life will be held at United Church in University Place, 3912 Grandview Drive West, University Place, WA 98466 on Oct 9, 2010 at 1pm. There is an education fund for the boy's established at Tapco Credit Union, 6312 19th St West, Tacoma, WA 98466.
